ARTISAN CORNER — At Work Skills’ Artisan Corner, creativity becomes more than expression. It becomes opportunity.
This inclusive art program supports local artists in building skills, confidence, and income through handmade art. Anna’s story is a strong example of how creativity can turn into something meaningful and lasting.
Anna, who proudly goes by the nickname “Anna-Mation,” has been part of Artisan Corner since 2016. As one of our dedicated artists, she brings both passion and personality to everything she creates.
When asked what she enjoys most, her answer is simple: “I like to draw.”
For Anna, it goes deeper than that. “I feel best when I do art.” That feeling comes through in every piece. Her work is bright, expressive, and full of character.
Anna loves drawing in a kawaii style, a Japanese-inspired art form known for its playful and expressive characters. “I love to draw kawaii, which means cute in Japanese.”
Her handmade artwork often features bold colors and friendly designs that are meant to bring joy. It’s a style that feels approachable and uplifting—something that resonates with customers, collectors, and supporters of local artists alike.
Through Artisan Corner, Anna has the opportunity not only to create, but also to sell her artwork and earn income. “I like to sell my art, and I love to get paychecks.”
That part matters. This isn’t just an art program. It’s a pathway to independence, confidence, and real-world experience. Artists gain the opportunity to share their work with the community while building financial independence through their creativity.
When asked where she feels happiest, Anna doesn’t hesitate: “I am happiest at Artisan Corner.”
Programs like Artisan Corner are designed to support artists of all abilities in a space where they can grow, connect, and succeed. It’s a place where creativity is encouraged and potential is recognized.

Anna’s journey shows what’s possible when artists are given the tools, support, and opportunity to thrive.
Every piece created at Artisan Corner tells a story. Not just of creativity, but of growth, purpose, and opportunity.
