Management Team
President and CEO
Tina M. Jackson
As President and CEO, Tina Jackson has been integral in establishing Work Skills Corporation (WSC) as a leader in the community. She is a highly motivated leader with a 33 year history of setting goals and achieving business objectives. She has a solid background in executive leadership, strategic planning, business development, human resources, operations, customer relations and organizational development. Tina has been instrumental in the development and growth of the staffing, home care, retail, employment and training and education divisions of WSC. WSC is a locally based non-profit organization specifically dedicated to helping people with barriers develop the skills they need to find full and lasting employment. Under Tina’s leadership, the organization has grown significantly with dramatic increases in the number of people served, through development of WSC Staffing Service, WSC Home Care, and the expansion into charter schools and introduction of Artisan Corner, an art studio that features artists with disabilities. With her guidance, WSC has created numerous programs to advance its mission and continue to meet unmet needs in the community. Additionally, Jackson is actively involved with the Work Skills Foundation and development of fundraising events that include the OpportuniTees golf outing and WoW (Women of Work Skills Foundation). A resident of Livingston County most of her life, Tina is a Past President of the Livingston Area Human Resource Association (LAHRA and current Programs Chair), former co-chair and founding member of the Livingston Resource Network (LRN), a member of the Livingston County Transportation Coalition Steering Committee (LCTC), the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), Vice Chair of the Greater Brighton Area Chamber of Commerce board and active member of surrounding area chambers of commerce. Tina was named Professional Woman of the Year by the Greater Brighten Area Chamber of Commerce in 2018. Her clear and unwavering vision has been instrumental in creating an organization whose philosophies reflect the importance of optimizing human potential by offering everyone with the desire, to succeed. Tina is a graduate of Eastern Michigan University in Ypsilanti, Michigan, where she earned her Bachelor of Science.
Chief Operating Officer
Anita Gibson
As Vice President, Anita Gibson is in charge of Employment Services, Action Home Health Care and all production operations for Work Skills Corporation (WSC). Â Anita works in concert with the Executive Leadership Team on strategic planning and organizational development. She is integral in ensuring grant compliance and cultivating positive, collaborative relationships with community partners, referral and/or funding organizations and employment and training organizations. Â In her previous role as Manager and Medical Coordinator for Todays Living Concepts, Anita was responsible for program review and implementation, staff oversight and client management. Her innovative approach and expertise helped TLC become a household name and community leader. Currently, Gibson is the Co-Chair of Convention of New Beginnings, committee member of the Livingston Human Service Collaborative, Livingston County Job Fair, Coalition Protecting Auto No-Fault, Survive & Thrive Brain Injury Association and actively involved with WoW (Women of Work Skills Foundation). Over the years, Anita has worked to ensure the highest possible quality of WSC programs. She is passionate about the value of the WSC programs and is committed to ensuring WSC has a positive impact on our clients, community and partner organizations. Anita is a graduate of Eastern Michigan University in Ypsilanti, Michigan, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Social Work.
Vice President
Suzy Murphy
As Vice President of Work Skills Corporation’s staffing division, WSC Staffing, Suzy Murphy oversees the day-to-day operations of WSC Staffing by working with companies throughout Michigan to find innovative staffing solutions in the areas of temporary, contract, and permanent placement of professional, skilled trades, administrative, and industrial candidates. She also directs corporate marketing and is a member of WSC’s senior leadership team. Suzy received her Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Michigan State University and her Masters in Human Resource Administration from Central Michigan University. Suzy is the former President of the Livingston Area Human Resource Association (LAHRA) and former LAHRA Government Affairs Committee Chair. Currently, she is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), American Staffing Association (ASA), and the Chamber of Commerce Talent Management Pipeline (TPM) collaborative. Suzy also serves on the Board of Directors for Community Catalyst as well as the Howell Area Chamber of Commerce.
Vice President
Tom Jones
Tom Jones is a Vice President with 17 years of experience working alongside the executive team of Work Skills Corporation. Tom’s broad skills and responsibility over the years have encompassed overseeing manufacturing operations, quality systems, material flow, financial budgeting and development, employee engagement, safety, IT department, and facility operations. Tom has experience in all phases of product development and can streamline processes, set realistic expectations, and perform deliverable recovery/risk mitigation during execution. Tom is a powerful force in the workplace and uses his positive attitude to encourage others to work hard and succeed.
Controller
Lori Koziara
Lori joined the accounting department of WSC in 1998. She has held many positions within the department from Accounting Clerk to Controller. As Controller, she is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating the operational functions of the accounting department. Her focus is to manage and accumulate financial data to provide an accurate accounting of consolidated business results. Lori has watched WSC grow significantly over the years and has adapted and grown with it. Lori is a resident of Livingston County and raised her two sons here. Now that her sons are grown with families of their own, she enjoys spending time with her grandchildren, camping, being outdoors, and reading. Lori is a graduate of The University of Michigan – Dearborn where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Administration degree.
Residential Services Administrator
Amy Sheibar
Amy joined Work Skills in 2013 to develop a residential program for adults facing barriers to independent living. In addition to oversite of the program, Amy is responsible for helping develop and implement treatment plans that are focused on helping residents achieve goals for greater independence. Amy also assists with oversite in Home Health Care and Clinical Services. Amy received an undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan and a Master’s of Science degree Behavioral Psychology from Eastern Michigan University. Amy has over 20 years of experience in working directly with individuals on learning to overcome challenges.
Development Manager
Julie Smith
Julie joined Work Skills Corporation (WSC) in 2013 as the Foundation Development Manager. In this role, Julie is responsible for expanding the Foundation’s partnerships with individuals, businesses and community organizations to build awareness of the WSC family of companies and increase engagement in our corporate mission: to optimize potential. Julie played an integral role in developing the Women of the Work Skills Foundation, also known as WoW, which is the philanthropic group that supports the Foundation’s vision of a community that offers opportunity for everyone with the desire to succeed. She also spearheads the Foundation’s annual golf outing. With nearly 30 years of experience in the nonprofit sector, Julie has a wealth of knowledge in fundraising, event planning, grant writing and donor development. Julie is an active member in the Brighton Rotary Club, 100 Women Who Care and the Brighton, Hartland and Howell chambers of commerce. When she is not at work, she can often be found volunteering at local community events.
Employment Services Manager
Marcia Ransom
Marcia joined the Employment Services department of WSC in 2008. She has held many positions within the department from Classroom Instructor, Employment Specialist to Employment Services Manager. Marcia specializes in coordinating with the Employment Services team to provide vocational training and career assessments, job seeking skills and job placement services to both youth and adults. She cultivates working relationships with a wide range of employers and community partners to support individuals obtain their highest vocational goals and dreams. Marcia earned her Bachelor of Business Management degree from Cleary University and maintains her Certified Brain Injury Specialist (CBIS). Marcia also serves as an active Board of Directors member for the Livingston County Literacy Coalition.
Human Resource Manager
Kacey French
Kacey joined Work Skills in 2022. As the Human Resource Manager, Kacey French oversees recruitment, employee relations, benefits, and HR compliance. Kacey works with the WSC Executive Leadership on strategic workforce planning, employee development and other ongoing HR initiatives to support the WSC mission. Kacey has over 14 years in Human Resources, has her SHRM-SCP certification and is a Graduate of Ferris State University, with a Bachelor of Science in Human Resource Management. She is passionate about Work Skills and the great difference it makes in the community.
Clinical Behavioral Services Director
Natasha Flemings
Natasha Flemings is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst with 16 years of experience working with individuals diagnosed with Autism. Natasha did her bachelor level field service in 2007 at Beaumont Hospital, the CARE program. Natasha completed her masters in Clinical-Behavioral Psychology at Eastern Michigan University and did her practicum at the University of Pediatricians Autism Center, Novi. Natasha has a strong background in psychology, autism, applied behavior analysis, skills assessments and treatment planning. Natasha has diverse experience as a clinician, she worked as a mobile-crisis specialist for Community Outreach Psychiatric Emergencies (COPE) and creating a pilot program providing ABA for individuals aged 11 – 18 years old living in a residential program who has a primary diagnosis of ASD in addition to other comorbid disorders. Natasha enjoys working with families and incorporating a team approach to treatment.
Manager of Speech Language Pathology
Taylor Picano
Taylor joined the Clinical Services department of WSC in 2021. She was a part of starting the speech and language pathology department at Work Skills. She provides speech and language services to children and adults in the community. Taylor specializes in providing services to early childhood clients and to children and adults with complex communication needs. She has also been working with adults to assist in increasing communication in professional and community settings. Taylor earned her Bachelor of Speech and Language Pathology degree from Eastern Michigan University. She also received her Master’s in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Michigan State University. She has worked in settings such as Detroit Public Schools, pediatric outpatient clinics, and traumatic brain injury settings.
