About Work Skills Corporation

Work Skills Corporation (WSC) has been providing employment services to people with barriers to employment for over 39 years. By barrier, we refer to a wide range of individuals from those who simply need help developing a resume to those who benefit from accommodations on a job.

Employment Services helps assess, train and identify what type of jobs participants would like to pursue and then supports them with becoming work-ready.  Job Placement Services assist individuals in finding jobs.  The WSC Art program provides participants and others we serve the opportunity to express artistic skills in producing artwork, some of which will be displayed and offered for sale at our gallery Studio West “The Home of Art with a Heart” and throughout the community.

WSC Production  (ISO Certified) performs work for a variety of business industries and services, as well as,  a Tier I and Tier II supplier. This area supports our employment services by providing a real work setting for assessment and training programs.

Action Associates is the staffing arm of WSC. Action provides temporary, contract and permanent placement of professional, skilled trades, administrative and industrial personnel to private business and government.

Action Home Health Care specializes in services to individuals and their loved ones who are faced with illness, recovery or diminished ability to care for themselves. Services are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.  These supportive services can be arranged for any amount of time needed including 24/7 or on a respite or temporary basis.

WSC Academy offers students the opportunity to recover credits and earn their high school diploma or prepare for the GED. WSC’s technology based learning environment allows students to accomplish their academic goals in a flexible and supportive learning environment at their own pace.

Studio West is WSC’s newest venture. Studio West provides people with disabilities and others we serve with an opportunity to express their artistic abilities by creating artwork in a multitude of media and the opportunity to display and sell their work for income. Studio West provides WSC a venue to increase community involvement and exposure.

Founded in 1973, WSC is a Michigan private, 501(c) (3) non-profit corporation governed by a volunteer Board of Trustees. We are CARF accredited and ISO certified.
