In 2018, WSC received its 14th consecutive CARF International Three-Year Accreditation. This is the highest level of endorsement that can be awarded to a rehabilitation facility.

WHEN WORK WORKS
The prestigious When Work Works Award — part of the SHRM’s When Work Works project — recognizes employers that excel at offering a variety of employee initiatives such as work-life fit policies, flexible scheduling and transition to parenthood programs. The award is earned after a rigorous assessment that emphasizes the real-life experiences of employees and incorporates national benchmarks of employer practices from the National Study of Employers and the National Study of the Changing Workforce.
REMOVING BARRIERS TO COMMUNITY ACCESS
MARO is the statewide network of mission driven organizations promoting community access and inclusion for people with disabilities and other barriers.
WSC received the Outstanding Architectural Investment Award from the Howell Area Chamber of Commerce. This award recognizes those businesses that make positive contributions to the visual landscape of the community.
The Greater Brighton Area Chamber of Commerce’s Economic Development Award recognizes exceptional contributions to the community for Business Retention & Expansion, Business Recruitment, Community Development and Community Involvement.
STATEMENT OF SUPPORT FOR THE GUARD AND RESERVE
The Statement of Support Program is the cornerstone of ESGR’s effort to gain and maintain employer support for the Guard and Reserve. The intent of the program is to increase employer support by encouraging employers to act as advocates for employee participation in the military. Supportive employers are critical to maintaining the strength and readiness of the Nation’s Guard and Reserve units.
COMMUNITY PARTNER ACHIEVEMENT HONOR ROLL
The Bureau of Services for Blind Persons (BSBP) recently presented its Achievement Honor Roll Awards in Lansing to consumers, employers and community partners nominated for embracing the true spirit of vocational rehabilitation. The awards are presented annually to BSBP consumers who are exemplary in achieving their goals for employment and/or independent living after vision loss; employers who have shown leadership in hiring people who are blind or visually impaired based on their abilities; and community partners recognized for their collaboration with BSBP in increasing opportunities for people who are blind or visually impaired to achieve independence and/or employment.
